Before signing up please read the Story Circle Expectations, Guidelines, & Tips

Theme Description: Join us for a potluck and storytelling! For this Story Circle, bring a story and a food item to share. Your food item should be connected to your story in some way, but the connection can be close or loose. Tell us the story about the holiday cooking ritual that brings your entire family together or about the meal that you learned to cook because your parents cooking skills extended only as far as PB&J. What is the story behind your comfort food or the way that chopping vegetables became a form of meditation for you during a difficult time? Tell us about the time that you ate the leftovers that you put outside your dorm window thinking that the night air was cold enough to refrigerate them, uh oh. Tell us about the magical road trip you took in college and the snacks that accompanied it. What terrible things did the kids at school say to you because your family’s food was different from theirs? Tell us about the food you dreamed about when you were backpacking the Pacific Crest Trail or the imaginative way your mom stretched the food budget when money was tight? How has food shaped your life or been a character in your story?

* If you have dietary restrictions, make sure to bring something you are able to eat and if you have allergies that make it dangerous for you to attend, please reach out.

Story Circles include 6-8 people who gather and share stories on a common theme from their own lives. Collectively, the group explores what can be learned from the stories together that would be harder to understand from any particular story alone.
